❋ About Alexa ❋
I’m a UX Designer based in Seattle.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Industrial Design. I started out in MedTech working as a Research & Development Engineer. With my Industrial Design minor, I brought my Human Factors knowledge to the table, serving as an expert for my engineering teams in my last three roles. Even so, I was dissatisfied with my engineering career, which involved less design and human interaction than I would’ve liked.
Hoping to hone my skills and transform my career, I took a leap of faith and quit my job to get my Master’s degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering from the University of Washington. I’ve been lucky to have an opportunity to conduct human-centered research on adaptations to crisis events under the guide of Dr. Kate Starbird. I currently work as a UX designer for Proprio, a MedTech startup. With my engineering background and driven by empathy, I thrive on turning complex problems into seamless experiences. Designing solutions that not only look great but feel right is my forte.
