❋ About Alexa ❋
I’m a UX Designer based in Seattle.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Industrial Design. I started out in MedTech working as a Research & Development Engineer. With my Industrial Design minor, I brought my Human Factors knowledge to the table, serving as an expert for my engineering teams in my last three roles. Even so, I was dissatisfied with my engineering career, which involved less design and human interaction than I would’ve liked.
Hoping to hone my skills and transform my career, I took a leap of faith and quit my job to get my Master’s degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering from the University of Washington. I’ve been lucky to have an opportunity to conduct human-centered research on adaptations to crisis events under the guide of Dr. Kate Starbird. While I’m finishing up papers related to my research, I’m looking for UX Designer roles. With my engineering background and driven by empathy, I thrive on turning complex problems into seamless experiences. Designing solutions that not only look great but feel right is my forte.
